Mireille Enos, who stars in the new AMC hit series The Killing and was also seen in Big Love, is in talks to star in the much anticipated zombie drama, World War Z alongside Brad Pitt, according to THR.
If she signs on, she’ll play the wife of Pitt’s character and mother of their two children. Brad Pitt plays a United Nations worker who interviews survivors of a zombie war that broke out 10 years earlier, piecing together what happened during that apocalypse.
Marc Forster is directing World War Z from a screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan and J. Michael Straczynski. Although the project looked to be in jeopardy recently due to funding issues (it’s a $100 million plus flick, which is a vast amount for a zombie flick), Paramount found a co-financier and now production is scheduled to begin in June, with filming to take place in London, Malta and other international locales.
This will be Mireille Enos’ first major studio role, if she signs on.
