When he first became famous, it was as a well-respected dramatic actor who scored Oscar nominations, but in the last few years John C. Reilly has been trapped in the world of inane comedies. Now don’t get me wrong, he’s good at inane comedies, but it’d be nice if he could mix it up a little.
Well, it appears that’s just what he’s planning, as Deadline reports he’s come aboard Roman Polanski’s latest drama, God of Carnage. Obviously few in Tinsel Town have been put off by Polanski’s recent ‘get-thee-to-America-pedophile’ legal problems, as the director is has put together a superb cast for the film, which also includes Oscar winners Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, and Christoph Waltz.

Think Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? but with parents.
Matt Dillon was previously been attached to play Michael, the role that John C. Reilly is now taking over, with Foster playing his wife. Shooting is scheduled to begin in January in Paris.
