It’s been announced that actor Neil Patrick Harris is set to make his feature directorial debut with new teen comedy Aaron and Sarah, according to THR. Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson are attached to star in the movie, which follows a relationship through all four years of high school.
Pushing Daisies writers Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey are on scripting duties, with a story that follows Roberts and Hutcherson’s characters as they become friends during their freshman year of high school. The movie charts their relationship throughout the years, which includes four proms and one funeral, until graduation day.
David O. Russell had previously been attached to direct the movie, but he left the project quite a while ago, and will now direct Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune instead. However it appears Aaron and Sarah won’t go into production anytime soon, as not only is Harris busy with How I Met Your Mother, but while the film was set up at Fox, it’s currently without a studio home.
