It seems Eddie Murphy has come to the conclusion no one is that interested in seeing him in live action lead roles anymore, as he’s signed up for a supporting part in Brett Ratner’s new comedy Tower Heist, according to Deadline.
Eddie Murphy joins a cast that includes Ben Stiller and Alan Alda. It isn’t known what character Eddie Murphy will portray, although he will likely be one of the employees that rally around Ben Stiller’s character in a plot to rob the man who stole their pensions. Alan Alda will play the white-collar criminal who is under house arrest in his penthouse suite in the building the employees work for.
Eddie Murphy had previously been mentioned to star in the original version of the movie when it was entitled Trump Heist, which centered on an African-American cast pulling off a heist at Donald Trump’s Trump Towers, but now it appears he’ll just be supporting Ben Stiller.
