It would be nice if Hollywood could just make big full announcements, but info tends to drip out. That’s certainly true here, where all the info we really have is that Production Weekly has discovered that ‘Wes Anderson has begun pre-production on his next live-action project, the untitled feature is scheduled to begin filming in the Spring.’
So what is this film? At the moment it’s a mystery. It almost certainly not The Rosenthal Suite, which he wrote the script for but said he won’t direct, but may be the script he was said to be writing with Noah Baumbach a few months ago, but which he wouldn’t give any details on. However it could be something completely new and different.
At the moment, the best we can manage is that The Playlist has been digging around and says Anderson is searching for a boy and a girl, both aged around 12, to play the lead roles. Hopefully more info on the flick will arrive soon.
