Yesterday we reported that the first cast members for JJ Abrams’ secretive movie Super 8 had leaked out, with Elle Fanning and Kyle Chandler both said to be in the movie. Well, it turns out that not only was that news correct, but that Abrams has managed to keep everything so hush-hush that he’s actually just started filming the flick in West Virginia, without anyone realising.
THR also has the names of various other cast members, including Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills. Unsurprisingly, there’s no info on who they’ll play, largely because we don’t even know what the film is about, exactly.
All the info we have is that it’s about the possibility that a group of kids in 1979 are playing around making movies with their Super 8 cameras and accidentally capture something sinister, on film. And we also had the intriguing teaser trailer. It’s promised that it’ll be a homage to classic Spielberg of the 70s and 80s, and with the bearded one as a producer and Abrams directing, you’ve got to hope it’ll be good.
