It’s two in one week for Malin Akerman, as just the other day it was announced she was set to star in The Numbers Station, opposite Ethan Hawke, and now Variety reports that’s she’s also signed up for the Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston comedy, Wanderlust.
Rudd and Aniston play a couple who, after losing all their money, decide to go and live at a free-wheeling hippie commune. Hilarity hopefully ensues. However as with Justin Theroux, who was announced for the movie a few weeks ago, it’s not known what role Akerman will play, although it’s easy to imagine the Swedish actress as a bit of a free-wheeling hippie chick.
The script for the film comes from Ken Marino and David Wain (Role Models), with Wain also directing, and Judd Apatow producing, which is a fairly potent combination. While having Aniston in the cast might give us pause, the rest of the recipe sounds like it could be comedy gold.
