Although there’s nothing official at all yet, Show Biz Spy has unleashed a major rumour suggesting that Brad Pitt is eying the lead role in an adaptation of the hit videogame, Red Dead Redemption.
However what isn’t clear from the site’s source, is whether Pitt is just at the top of a wishlist, or if the actor is actively pursuing the part. Indeed, at the moment, it’s not even certain that a Red Dead Redemption movie will definitely be made, although the idea is definitely being mooted, and as a result it’s not that surprising they’re thinking about Pitt for the lead. However if I were to put a bet on, I’d imagine if the movie does go ahead, it’ll be with someone else in the main role.
Pitt would be playing renegade outlaw John Marston, who in the film would be forced to hunt down members of his old gang, with the idea being to make a sprawling Western with a “few modern touches”. Brad apparently has first refusal on the role, but that’s true of pretty much any part he might want, so don’t get too excited.
