While for the past year or two, JJ Abrams has been steadily working to take over Hollywood, he hasn’t been doing it alone, and has taken numerous people along with him, who’ve done good work on his TV shows.
The latest of those getting an Abrams boost into the film arena is Jack Bender, who directed the final episode of Lost and is now down to helm a film Abrams is helping develop, called 7 Minutes In Heaven, based on the teenage game of snogging in the closet at parties.
According to THR, Bender came up with the original idea, which will ‘focus on two teens who go into a closet as part of the titular game and find all their friends dead when they come back out’. Sounds lovely. It’s still early days though, as Bender, Abrams and his Bad Robot production company are currently looking for a writer to tackle 7 Minutes In Heaven.
However, with this going on the enormous heap of project Abrams is involved with, it’s unlikely all will be made, so we’ll just have to wait and see if this one gets the go-ahead.
