And that’s a warp. Comic book writer/DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has revealed on his Twitter, that ‘GREEN LANTERN IS WRAPPED!!!! Finished the last shot today!!! Celebrating in New Orleans. :)… As co-producer of the film, I am very, very proud of what weve got in store. Much more to come. Martin Campbell FTW.’
And now comes the tricky part, as not only do they have to add in all the whizz-bang special effects you’d expect from a superhero movie, but the Green Lantern’s entire costume will be done using CG, with Ryan Reynolds wearing a motion capture suit on set.
And DC/Warner must really be happy with what’s going on, as Variety reports that they’ve just hired Michael Goldenberg to write the screenplay for Green Lantern 2. A couple of months ago they asked the writers of the script for the first film, Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Micheal Green, to come up with a treatment for the sequel, and now Goldenberg, who wrote Harry Pooter and the Order of the Phoenix, will actually write it. It certainly means that if the first film is a success, they’ll be able to get a follow up going very quickly.
