While it’s slightly flying under the radar at the moment, Brad Anderson’s (Session 9, The Machinist) Vanishing On 7th Street is a potentially interesting flick, despite the presence of the acting talent vacuum that is Hayden Christensen (hopefully John Leguizamo and the talented but annoying Thandie Newton can help on that score). Now some new images, including a poster, have appeared online, along with a behind-the-scene featurette that takes a good look at the movie.
The official plot synosis says that, ‘A mysterious, seemingly global blackout causes countless populations to simply vanish, leaving only their clothes and possessions behind. A small handful of survivors band together in a dimly-lit tavern on 7th Street, struggling to combat the apocalyptic horror. Realising they may in fact be the last people on earth, the darkness hones in on them alone.’
It’s an intriguing premise, that could be incredibly cheesy, but Anderson is a great director, and you know that in his hands it’ll be interesting at least. Take a look above and below for some of the images (you can see a few more over at the film’s website), as well as the behind-the-scenes featurette. The film should be in UK cinemas later this year.
