In the last couple of weeks, Tron Legacy director, Joseph Kosinski, has been busy taking his project Oblivion around to studios, with the latest news being that while several of them have put bids in, it’s Disney that’s on the inside track, partly because of Kosinski’s relationship with them on Tron and the planned Black Hole remake.
Oblivion actually started life several years ago, back when Kosinski was a commercials director looking for an in with Hollywood, so Oblivion was designed as film that could be made on a medium budget with a small cast, but offered high concept, big ideas, in an immersive science fiction world. While he didn’t get it off the ground back then, and he’s since been busy on Tron, he’s also been working with Radical Books to turn Oblivion into an illustrated novel, with art by Andree Wallin.
At Comic-Con Radical released a preview chapter of the book, which will be published later this year (with a film version coming sometime in the future), and that’s now been put online by AICN. So if you wanna get an inkling about what the book, and the upcoming film, are all about, click on the image below for the full version of the 1st chapter over at Aint It Cool.
