Disney may have just sold Miramax, but it looks like the new owners will have at least one movie they can release soon, as the company’s logo is attached to the Guillermo Del Toro produced Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark, which was initially described as being creepy fun that might be suitable for the whole family, but is looking a whole lot darker and R-rated than that in this teaser. In the film Sally (Bailee Madison) is a lonely, introverted child who has just arrived at the 19th century mansion her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are restoring. While exploring the sprawling estate, Sally discovers a hidden, long-undisturbed basement. Unwittingly, she unleashes a race of malevolent, dark-dwelling creatures who intend to drag her and her family down into the mansion’s bottomless depths. Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark is due out early next year, but click below for the scary teaser.
