Although Summit Entertainment, the company behind the Twilight films, is keeping schtum, EW reports that Pushing Daisies actor Lee Pace is in final negotiations to join Breaking Dawn, the two-part finale to the all-conquering franchise, which Bill Condon is directing.
If EW’s sources are correct, he’ll be playing Garrett, who they decribe as Edward’s best friend, but who is more a nomadic vampire who becomes one of the witnesses for the Cullens when the Volturi take a dislike to Edward and Bella’s child, and who is intrigued by the fact the Cullens drinks human rather than animal blood.
Pace is unlikely to turn up until the final of the two Breaking Dawn movies, as he doesn’t feature at all until near the end of the book, but it sounds like there’ll be at least one new hottie in the film for Twi-hards to drool over. Just to reiterate, the Lee Pace news hasn’t been confirmed by any official sources, but he would certainly make a good addition to the film. Shooting on Breaking Dawn begins in October.
