It’s official, after much speculation, Steve Carell is leaving The Office. For months the rumour mill has been working, suggesting he was getting slightly frustrated that while he was having film success, The Office meant he had to cram all his movie work into the short summer break. So now it’s been agreed that’ll do one more season and then move on, and he’s already attacked himself to a new comedy pitch, which should be ready to shoot by the time he actually leaves the sitcom.
THR reports that Carell is interested in starrring in Raised By Wolfs, and no, that’s not a spelling mistake, that’s what it’s called. Annoying though, everyone is keeping quiet about the plotline, which would have probably explained the title. We can only assume there’s someone called Wolfs in it, who raises something.
The pitch has come from TV writer Les Fierstein, with Dreamworks now buying it for Carell to produce and star in.
