New Tron Legacy Banner – Garrett Hedlund is looking moody and very cool

15th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

Disney has done a masterful job upping the hype for Tron Legacy, via a cool trailer and some absolutely goregeous imagery, key to which has been a set of billboard pictures they’ve released. The latest of these, which you can see above, continues the very cool vibe, although notably this is the first to feature a recognisable character from the film, in this case Garrett Hedlund’s Sam Flynn. It seems then that we’re moving into the stage where it’s not just about looking cool, but Disney also wanting to intrigue us with the cast and characters.

The film, which sees Jeff Bridges returning as Kevin Flynn, revolves around his son Sam, who is haunted by the disappeance of his father. However, when Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade – a signal that could only come from his father – he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe -a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

Tron Legacy hits cinemas on December 17th, but take a look above for the fab new billboard image, and click here for some of the other ones. (Image via IGN)
