Although Marc Forster made one movie a year betwee 2004 and 2008, since Quantum of Solace he hasn’t actually managed to get anything into cinemas. However he has attached and unattached himself from a vast array of projects, and currently has Machine Gun Preacher in production.
Now it looks like he may follow that with another movie about people dealing with religious problems, as Variety report he’s developing Heretic, based on a story that aired on the American radio show, This American Life. The film with tell the true story of Carter Pearson, an evangelical preacher from Oklahoma, who ran into trouble with his own congregation when he started to preach that Hell didn’t exist. While he was ostracised by his original followers, he stuck withhis new, measured look at life and religion, and started to attract a new and different sort of churchgoer.
At the moment, Forster is only attached to produce, although he’s also eyeing it as a potential directing project, and will decide once he sees the script from Marcus Hinchey.
