There’s always interest in what Half Nelson and Sugar writer-directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden are getting up, as they’ve developed a suprisingly large following for a couple of fairly new indie auteurs. Their latest flick is It’s Kind Of A Funny Story, based on Ned Vizzini’s semi-autobiographical novel about a teen called Craig (Keir Gilchrist) who checks himself into a mental health facility to deal with his stress and despression, but ends up on the adult ward because the teen ward is being renovated. There he meets many people with all sorts of problems, including Bobby (Zach Galifianakis), who becomes a kind of protege as Craig deals with this issues and sparks a fledling romance with fellow teen patient Noelle (Emma Roberts). The film is due out later this year (no specific UK release date is yet set), but click below for the trailer.
