It’s always annoying when a girl comes between you and your relationship with you dead brother, and that’s what Zac Efron has to deal with in Charlie St. Cloud. Zac will play the title role, a young man who’s so stricken by grief after being partially responsible for the death of his brother that he finds himself unable to move forward. He ends up getting a job as a caretaker in the cemetery his brother is buried in, which allows him to feel a special connection to his bro (his sibling even appears to him in ghostly form and they play baseball every day), but it’s a bond that’s tested when Charlie falls in love. Burr Steers (17 Again) directs, with the film currently scheduled for release in the UK on October 8th. Click below for the new trailer, which shows Efron trying to be all grown up and serious.
