Imogen Poots first got noticed playing one of the main children in 28 Weeks Later. Since then the young British actress has she’d appeared in the likes of Me and Orson Welles, Cracks and Centurion, and now THR reports she’s landed on of her highest profile roles yet, as the female lead in the remake of Fright Night.
She’ll play the main character’s (AntonYelchin) girlfriend, who’s part of the popular crowd and unaware that of his earlier life as a nerd. She’s the final major player to be cast in the film, which also includes Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
The main plot revolves around a teen who becomes convinced that a vampire has moved in next door. While in the 1980s original he enlisted the help of a washed-up actor turned TV host, in the remake he’ll be calling on a magician (Tennant) who claims to be a vampire expert, but is actually nothing of the sort.
Craig Gillespie is directing the comedy-horror, with the shoot expected to start this summer in new Mexico.
