Inception might not have been released yet, but it seems it’s already inspiring some clones, with THR reporting that Miley Cyrus is attached to MTV Films and Paramount’s adaptation of Lisa McMann’s young adult novel, Wake, which sounds as if it might be Inception meets Twilight.
Wake follows Janie (Cyrus), who has the completely unwanted ability to get sucked into other people’s dreams, especially as once inside she sees things that she’d rather not. However when she is pulled into a terrible nightmare, she goes from being merely a witness to what’s happening, to realising that she can participate in it.
Wake is the first of three novels about Janie and her boyfriend Caled, with MTV and Paramount hoping that if the first film is a success, they’ve got franchise material ready and waiting. Disturbia co-writer Christopher Landon will adapt the book for the screen.
