After Clash Of The Titans hit it big at the cinemas earlier this year, Warner Bros immediately started talking about making a sequel, and director Louis Leterrier was equally as quick to rule himself out of directing it. So who’s going to take his place?
Well, according to the LA Times, Warner has been drawing up a list and top of that is Jonathan Liebesman. While Liebesman has directed dreck like Darkness Falls and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, he’s currently working on moving into the big leagues with the alien invasion drama, Battle: Los Angeles, due out next spring. He’s also planning his own Greek mythology epic, based on Odysseus, but now Warner apparently want him to scoot over and direct Clash 2 instead.
The studio is keen to move quickly, knowing that if they wait, Sam Worthington may be tied up for eons with Avatar 2, so they want to start shooting the Clash sequel early next year at the latest.
The LA Times also says Warner has promised to shoot this one in native 3D, rather than the rushed post-conversion that so irritated many critics and viewers.
