A few days ago it was announced that Paul Rudd had signed up for the comedy My Idiot Brother, playing an idealist dealing with an overbearing mother, who crashes into the homes of his three sisters. While he turns their lives upside-down, he also brings truth and happiness.
However at the time, there was no news on who would play the sisters, but that’s changed, with THR revealing that Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer will have to deal with Rudd crashing into their houses, while Rashida Jones will also star.
According to THR, in the film, ‘Banks is a career-driven single about to get her big break in journalism after spending years writing about accessories at a fashion magazine; Deschanel is a bisexual whose flakiness and lies are getting in the way of moving forward with her caring, responsible girlfriend (Jones); and Mortimer plays a Park Slope mom too worried about having the perfect life and children to notice that her marriage is falling apart.’
The movie is due to start shooting next month in New York, with Jesse Peretz directing.
