Sigourney Weaver must like getting inside people’s minds, as just last week it was announced she was going to play a para-psychologist who attempts to debunk a very reputable psychic in Red Lights and now she’s going shrink again in Abduction, opposite Taylor Lautner, Alfred Molina and Lily Collins.
Abduction is about a young man (Lautner) who has long felt disconnected from his parents and then discovers his own baby pictures on a missing person’s website. This unleashes a chain of violent events, with Nathan and his girlfriend (Collins) going on the run, to try and work out why he was kidnapped as a child. Variety reports what Weaver has signed up to play a psychiatrist who is attempting to help Lautner with his familial issues, which are bad enough before he discovers his parent aren’t really his parents.
Shooting on the film is set to start in July in Pittsburgh, with John Singleton directing from Shawn Christensen’s script.
