Whatever happened to Ashley Judd? In the late-90s and early 2000s she was everywhere, with the likes of Double Jeopardy making her one of the biggest actress around, but since then we’ve hardly seen anything of her (partly because she’s been off getting educated with a graduate degree), with only a few little seen roles and a supporting part in Tooth Fairy. However now she got a new film to get her teeth into, starring opposite Patrick Dempsey in Flypaper.
Until recently it looked like the object of Dempsey’s affections would be Liv Tyler, but she’s apparently passed on the movie and so the Variety reports it’s Judd who’s got the job. Although it’s an independent movie, it comes from a script by Hangover scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, and tell the tale of a bank that is robbed by two sets of criminals at the same time, causing Dempsey to come to the rescue, in order to save the bank teller (Judd) he loves. Tim Blake Nelson will also be in the film as another bank robber.
The film is scheduled to start shooting on July 7th, under the direction of Rob Minkoff (The Lion King, Stuart Little, The Forbidden Kingdom).
