Now that Paul W.S. Anderson is in a race with Doug Liman as to who can get their 3D Three Musketeers movie to cinemas first, he’s sure filling up his cast list fast, ahead on a planned September shoot. Just last week we learned that Luke Evans, Ray Stevenson and Matthew MacFadyen would be Porthos, Athos and Aramis, Logan Lerman is onboard as D’Artagnan, while Christoph Waltz will be Cardinal Richelieu, Mads Mikkelson Rocherfort, and Milla Jovovich the mysterious Milady.
Now it looks like Anderson has bagged another hot talent for the film, 21-year-old British actress Juno Temple, who THR reports is in talks to play her royal highness the Queen in the 3D version of the classic tale. After starring in St. Trinian’s, Atonement, Year One, Cracks, Wild Child and Greenberg, Temple’s star has risen exponentially, and she’s got a slew of hot indie flicks coming up as well, including Dirty Girl, Goodnight Moon and the lesbian werewolf drama, Jack & Diane.
It seems the film world is hot for Anderson’s Musketeers, as a separate THR report says that Summit Entertainment, which is behind the movie, has managed to sell out international distribution rights to the film already, with E1 Entertainment snapping them up for the UK. Indeed they’re so chuffed with how it’s gone that Summit president David Garrett describes Musketeers as “the jewel in the Cannes crown this year”. That may be going a bit far, but it certainly seems to have buzz.
