Although Robert Englund’s fame rests squarely on Freddy Krueger’s shoulders, he still hold a macabre fascination in horror circles, and in recent years certainly hasn’t been shy when it comes to embracing his scary movie reputation (his guest appearance in a recent episode of Bones played it to the hilt, and he seemed to revel in it).
As a result, there’s still plenty of interest when it’s announced that Robert has a new horror role, and this time he’ll be headlining a movie called Inkubus. The film, directed by Glenn Ciano, recently started filming and tells the story of a skeleton crew working the final shift at a soon to be demolished police station (not the most subtle creepy horror location, but what did you expect?). However the night take an inevitable gruesome turn when the demon Inkubus walks into the station holding a severed head, before confessing to a litany of crimes he’s committed over hundreds of years.
The cast also includes William Forsythe, Joey Fatone (of N*Sync fame), Mike Cerrone and Michelle Ray Smith. There’s no word on when it’ll hit cinemas. Actually scrap that, there’s no word on when it’ll come straight to DVD.
