Although it’s currently unconfirmed, it seems both Patrick Dempsey and Jamie Kennedy may be joining the cast of Transformers 3, which is due to go into production soon. The Dempsey news comes via an interview with a Brazilian website where he said, “I start filming later this month on Transformers 3, in which I play a character who is far more dark than others. The cast of the birdwatching comedy The Big Year has expanded significantly with Rashida Jones, Anjelica Huston, Jim Parsons, Rosamund Pike, JoBeth Williams, Brian Dennehy, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Anderson and Tim Blake Nelson joining the previously announced Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steven Martin. That’s a hell of a cast for the film, based on Mark Obmascik’s book about three men trying to outdo each other during a year long competition to find the rarest birds in North America. A cast like this suggests a lot of these famous faces will be dropping in for cameos as the main cast go from place to place looking for birds. Shooting on the David Franckel movie has just begun.
