Last year in virtually every interview he gave, Sylvester Stallone couldn’t help talking up the possibility of Rambo V. He also took to sending notes to AICN, first saying how it was going to be a vaguely sci-fi movie called The Savage Hunt, with Rambo up against a genetically manipulated killing machine, before it was decided to make it a make traditional Rambo movie, with him running around killing normal people in incredibly violent ways.
However it now seems we’re not likely to see the film at all. Speaking to Empire, he told the magazine, “I think Rambos pretty well done. I dont think therell be any more. Im about 99% sure. That’s a bit over a surprise as the last film was a success and Stallone has always seemed keen, however it seems he had a change of heart, saying, I was going to do it… I said Id never talk about this, but with I feel that with Rocky Balboa, that character came complete circle. He went home. But for Rambo to go on another adventure might be, I think, misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary. I dont want that to happen.”
However he did revealed he’s working on an extended cut of Rambo, which will add 12 minutes back into the movie.
