After becoming a living legend and making movies for over 30 years, the Academy finally deigned to hand Martin Scorsese an Oscar for The Departed. It certainly isnt his best movie, but it is very good, and you get the impression he was given the award more to honour his astonishing career, which has taken in everything from Taxi Driver and Raging Bull to Goodfellas and even Michael Jackson music video for Bad, than just for his cops and gangsters flick.
So today I thought Id do a bit of a retrospective on Scorsese in stats, including the box office and budgets of all his films, his Oscar nominations, wins, collaborations and more. So take a look below to see what the great director has been up to over the last four decades.
