On Friday we reported all sorts of details that Ridley Scott had revealed about his planned Alien prequel, including that it’ll be about the ship that the crew of the Nostromo have to explore in the first film (read more about that here). Well, it turns out there was something he left out of that interview, which Collider reports he revealed at a press conference for his upcoming Robin Hood.
It seems that there isn’t just one alien prequel in the works, but two. Ridley revealed that “It’ll be two. It’ll be prequel one and two. Then Alien 1. At the moment I’m just trying to get the first one out.”
He also confirmed that as with every other film getting made in Hollywood these days, it’ll be film in 3D. The director says, “Of course it’ll be in 3D… Theyd said last October, I could have squeezed it under the hammer and got it in as a 3D version of Robin Hood.”
The Alien prequel(s) are certainly getting more and more intriguing, and it’ll definitely be worth queuing up to see what the director of the original can do with the franchise more than three decades on.
