It looks like Jamie Foxx is setting out to increase his multi-hyphenate credentials, by teaming up with 20th Century Fox Animation for a CG animated flick called Welcome To The Jungle. It’s certainly a bit of a Foxx production, as it’s based on an original idea by him and writer Malcolm Spellman, and he’ll also produce the film, play the main character and write the music for it.
Unfortunately though, there’s absolutely no word on the plot, with the only thing Variety managed to dig up being a quote from Spellman saying, ‘Life is a jungle and welcome to it’, which isn’t exactly illuminating. However, whatever it’s about, the project is said to be specifically built to utilise Jamie’s talents as both an actor (and most particularly with voice, due to his comedy background) and as a musician. One thing we can safely say, is that it isn’t a remake of the movie from a few years back that starred The Rock.
With Foxx being a successful comedian, and Oscar-winning actor and a Grammy-winning R&B artist, he’s certainly got the talent to wear all the hats he wants to in Welcome To The Jungle, so it’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
