Steve Carell is preparing to release his inner weirdo with Dinner For Schmucks, which is about a rising executive called Tim (played by Paul Rudd) who thinks his career’s getting a boost when he’s invited to his boss’ special monthly dinner, an event where everyone must bring the most peculiar person they can find, so everyone else can laugh at them. Tim thinks he’s found the perfect person to take, Carell’s Barry, although as he’s a walking disaster area, things prove trickier than expected. A remake of a French flick, Dinner For Schmucks is due for release in the UK on August 20th, but now the first trailer has been released, which suggest the film might be funny, but it could also be rather cringe-inducing.
