For quite a while now (since 2008 in fact), Bruce Willis has been attached to star in the videogame adaptation, Kane & Lynch, However while he was signed up for Kane, until now we’ve had nobody to play Lynch.
That’s now been remedied as Variety reports (confirming what screenwriter Kyle Ward mentioned on Twitter) that Jamie Foxx has inked a deal to appear in the movie.
In the film, Adam ‘Kane’ Marcus, is a mercenary who is forced to team up with the psychopathic killer James Lynch and travel the world in order to recover a doomsday device before Kane’s kidnapped wife and daughter are killed by the criminals who broke the duo out of prison for the mission.
Production is set to start in August, with veteran stunt co-ordinator/second unit director Simon Crane behind the camera.
Foxx seems a slightly odd choice for a demented, sociopathic killer, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does in the role. Kane & Lynch is one of the few games where a cinematic transfer seems warranted, so we hopd out high hopes for the film.
