It’s been a very good year for Christoph Waltz, with his role in Inglorious Basterds scoring him an Oscar as well as helping him land roles in several upcoming projects, such as the Robert Pattinson/Reese Witherspoon circus drama, Water For Elephants, and as the villain in The Green Hornet.
Now he’s planning to step behind the camera and become a director for the first time, as Fox International has agreed to produce a script he wrote called Aud und Davon. As you might have guessed from the title, the movie will be in German, and revolves around the ruthless host of a dating show, who finds herself in over her head when the show’s storyline intersects with her own feelings for a contestant.
Variety reports that Waltz will probably also take a role in the movie, although he hasn’t decided yet whether to co-star or take a smaller part.
Does this mean that after taking the acting world by storm Waltz will now do the same as a director, or is this just a bit of a vanity project? We’ll have to wait and see.
