A couple of months ago it was announced that Glenn Close was writing and producing an adaptation of George Moore’s story, Albert Nobbs. Close won huge acclaim in an off-Broadway theatre version in the 1980s.
She will also play the main role of a woman who becomes increasingly trapped by 19th Century Irish society after living and working as a man for 20 years, with her deception leading to an unusual love trianlge. Now Glenn has some company, as Variety is reporting that Amanda Seyfried, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Orlando Bloom, Janet McTeer and Michael Gambon have all joined the cast of the movie.
Director Rodrigo Garcia plans to start shooting the movie in Dublin in June.
