Jason Segel has bagged a new role, signing up to star opposite Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher. The raunchy comedy, written by Office scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, centres on a foulmouther, gold-digging middle school teacher (Diaz), who, after getting dumped by her boyfriend, competes with a colleague (Lucy Punch) to woo the school’s model teacher away from her.
It seems that Segel is going to have a supporting role in the film, as he won’t be the man the women are fighting over, instead playing a gym teacher. Also joining the cast of the Jake Kasdan film is the scene-stealing John Michael Higgins (The Ugly Truth, The Break-Up), who’ll play the school’s principal.
As yet, the role of the perfect boyfriend is yet to be cast, although expect to find out who it is soon, as shooting is due to begin next month. (Source: THR)
