It seems Max Payne and The Omen director John Moore has got a new gig, as a Production Weekly tweet has let us know that he’s attached to direct the Fox action thriller, Final Orbit, based on a graphic novel which was supposed to come out last year, but is still to hit the shelves.
The official synopsis for the comic says it’s about “the story of some lottery winners who are vacationing on the International Space Station but when it is damaged, the vacation becomes a nightmare, trapping the tourists alone in a crippled module with no astronauts to help them.”
It’s been described as a bit of a cat and mouse thriller, although it does sound a bit like The Poseidon Adventure in space, with perhaps a bit of Lost chucked in for good measure. Moore’s always been a director who I’ve thought could be really good, as he showed a lot of promise with Behind Emeny Lines and Flight of the Phoenix. Unfortunately since then he’s rather stagnated with The Omen and Max Payne, so hopefully Final Orbit will see him back on form.
