A press release has gone out to announce the start of production on John Landis’ comedy-horror, Burke & Hare, about the infamous 19th Century duo who took grave robbing to the extreme and started murdering people so they could sell the bodies to a doctor for dissection.
While we’ve known for a while that Simon Pegg was going to star, and he’d been recently joined by Andy Serkis, Isla Fisher and Tom Wilkinson, a whole slew of new names have now been announced. Perhaps most interesting is that there’s going to be a bit of a Spaced reunion, as Jessica Hynes will play will play Hare’s (Serkis’) long-suffering wife, Lucvky.
Also joining the film are Tim Curry, Reece Shearsmith, David Schofield, Allan Corduner, Bill Bailey, Hugh Bonneville, Michael Smiley, Christopher Lee and even Ronnie Corbett.
Production on the movie, which is John Landis’ first theatrical film in over a decade has now begun at Ealing Studios, and will also take place in London and Edinburgh.
