Daniel Craig has got some company, as THR reports that Naomi Watts has signed up to star opposite him in Deam House, the Jim Sheridan directed thriller that starts shooting next month.
Based on a spec script by David Loucka, Dream House is about a family that relocates to what appears to be an ideal new home in rural Connecticut. However, they’re disturbed to discover that their new home was once the site of another family’s slaughter, which is believed to have been committed by the father of the family, who survived. Watts will play the new family’s neighbour. With talk of a supernatural element, it does all sound rather generic, but hopefully not.
Some hope has to rise from the presence of Criag and Watts, who you wouldn’t think would sign up for the film unless it has more surprises than the plot synopsis suggest. There’s also the presence of director Jim Sheridan. It’s not like anything the he’s tackled before, but with the likes My Left Foot, In The Name Of The Father, In America and Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ under his belt, he’s certainly got a good pedigree.
