Over the last few years, James Marsden has seemed on the verge of hitting it big, but so far he hasn’t quite made it, despite success in the likes of X-Men, Enchanted and 27 Dresses. However he’s now signed up for the lead live-action role in the rabbity comedy, I Hop, so perhaps this will be his break into the a-list (although I doubt it).
He’ll be starring as Frank, an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand), and must take the creature in while it recovers. However the Easter Bunny turns out to be a hideous house guest, but their meeting may be what both rabbit and human need to help them learn to grow up.
Don’t be surprised if I Hop gets a new title in the UK, as while its name is a play on the US restaurant chain, International House Of Pancakes, it’s just slightly random everywhere else in the world. The film will be directed by Tim Hill, the man responsible for another CG animal meets human flick, Alvin and the chipmunks.
