Any film where Megan Fox describes her character as a “caged circus freak with angel-like wings growing out of her back,” who may or may not really be from heaven, and who gets saved by a down on his luck trumpeter played by Mickey Rourke, has to be worth a watch. That’s the premise of Mitch Glazer’s Passion Play, and now there’s even more reason to be excited about the movie.
Although it was announced a few months ago the British actor Toby Kebbell had signed up to star in the movie as a murderous mobster named Happy Shannon, Production Weekly says he’s now been replaced by Bill Murray. And quite frankly, any role Murray takes is fine by us.
There’s no news on why Kebbell left, especially as the film has been shooting for a while now, but if it’s going to get Murray on the screen more, I don’t really care.
Although Passion Play sounds utterly bizarre, I have to say I’m more than a little intrigued. The film is due out later this year.
