Although it hasn’t been officially announced, tucked away in a Deadline Hollywood report that Shia LaBeouf has signed up with a new agent, CAA’s Richard Lovett (when he left WME in December he said he was going to have his manager and lawyer act as his agents, but it seems he’s changed his mind), comes the news that LaBeouf will “likely start work in May on Transformers 3”.
It makes sense, as with Paramount wanting the film in cinemas on July 1st, 2011 (although Michael Bay said previously it would be out until 2012, he’s since agreed to step up the schedule) they’ll need to start filmingpretty quickly in order to ensure there’s enough time finish all the special effects. And I think we can be assured that there’ll be a lot of special effects.
However as work on the script is ongoing and the studio hasn’t announced an official schedule, don’t be surprised if the May start date for Transformers 3 slips.
