After Blade, director Stephen Norrington seemed to have the world at his feet, but following the hideous time he had on the set of 2003’s The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, he hasn’t made a film since (Norrington’s endless arguments with Sean Connery were one of the reasons the former 007 cited as to why he decided to retire after making the movie).
However while the director has recently been talking up his planned reboot of The Crow, it looks like that’s not the only film he’s got in the works following his sabbatical. HeatVisionBlog reports that he’s also come on board to rewrite and direct The Lost Patrol, based on a spec script by Andrew Hilton that was bought last year by Legendary Pictures.
Although no one’s letting slip on the plot details, it’s said to be a supernatural thriller set against the backdrop of World War II. Norrington says he agreed to make the film because it hit all of his “geek-buttons” and contains “hardware, heroes, grime, insane monsters.”
Although the director seemed pretty wounded by his Extraordinary Gentlemen experience (which wasn’t helped by the fact the film was crap), it certainly looks like he’s now ready to try and get his career back on track.
