While director Seth Gordon made a huge impact with his documentary, King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters, he first foray into the world of film fiction, Four Christmases, wasn’t so hot. However not to be deterred, he’s now preparing a new movie, Celeste and Jesse Forever.
The film has been written by ‘I Love You, Man’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ actress, Rashida Jones, and her writing partner, Will McCormack (best known as a TV actor in the likes of The Sopranos). Jones is also attached to star in the film (but McCormack isn’t), which is about a divorcing couple who attempt to maintain a friendship while they pursue new relationships.
Although Gordon has got numerous films in the works, it doesn’t look like any of them are ready to go, and so this will be his next film, with the aim to start shooting in April, once Jones goes on hiatus from Parks and Recreation. While Celeste and Jesse Forever was originally was originally got to be made by Fox Atomic, the film got put into turnaround when that unit shut down, so now Overture Film has picked it up and is ready to run with it.
