Vince Vaughn only got married last weekend and he’s already talking about infidelity. Worst of all he’s going to do it with Ron Howard. Of course, as you may have guessed, we haven’t just broken the news that Vince Vaughn and Ron Howard are secret lovers *although they would make Hollywood’s oddest couple), we’re talking about the fact that the duo are teaming up to make a film that based around the subject of infidelity.
The dramedy, written by Allan Loeb (although based on an idea by producer Brian Grazer), is about a man who discovers that his best friend’s wife is cheating and then has to work out what to do with that dangerous bit of knowledge. The likes of The Break-up and Couples Retreat show Vaughn is certainly interested in the darker sides of relationships, although with Couples Retreat, the film was toned down in editing. It’s also true that he could do with a hit, as his recent films, such as Fred Claus and Four Christmases have all underperformed.
THR reports that Ron Howard will direct the movie, marking a shift back to comedy for him after several years making dramas and adaptations of Dan Brown books. The movie could go before the camera as early as this spring.
