While this movie definitely intriguing and tries to sell itself on the fact it’s based on a previously unproduced screenplay by play-writing legend Tennesse Williams, you can’t help but wonder whether the reason the script has lain dormant for decades is because it isn’t very good. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, a headstrong young woman in the roaring 1920s, who rebels by asking the impoverished but handsome son of her father’s caretaker, Jimmy Dobyne (Christ Evans), to escort her to the major social events of the season. However what starts as a business arrangement turns into an impossible love. Although it’s certainly interesting to have a new Williams work after all this time, this trailer suggests it may not the Streetcar Named Desire writer’s lost masterpiece.
