The Asylum is well known for producing low budget movies that are vaguely similar to big blockbusters, so that they can get them onto DVD and in the shops in time for the major film’s cinema release, and thereby milk its publicity (we wouldn’t like to say they con people into buying their film, but sometimes the covers look so similar you can’t help but think a few people must get confused). This time they’re not just tying their new film, Princess Of Mars into Avatar, saying that Edgar Rice Burrough’s story inspired Jame Cameron’s film, but it’ll also be ready on the shelves when Pixar release their big budget version in a couple of year’s time – by which time Asylum will probably be ready with Princess Of Mars 2. Click below to take a look at the trailer, although we wouldn’t bother to rush out and order a copy. The film will be out in the US soon, although no UK date has been set.
