Although I can’t say I’m a great fan of Jackass, an awful lot of people are, and their hearts will be cheered by the news that Paramount may be planning to release Jackass 3D to cinemas next year. Although at the moment there doesn’t seem to be a lot of official info around, film writer WIlliam B Goss revealed on his Twitter feed that he’d spotted a listing on the Paramount slate for another round the hitting each other in the nuts, this time in three-dimension.
/Film then did a a bit of digging and discovered that the web address for a Jackass 3D film is indeed owned by Paramount. This isn’t a guarantee they’re making the film, but is very suggestive.
In many respects Jackass would seem the perfect thing to get the 3D treatment. That said, with the weightier 3D cameras, it may be difficult to pull off the anarchic, handheld style, but hopefully they’ll find a way to get round that. At the moment there’s little more news on whether this film will actually turn up or not, but as Jackass movies can be made very quickly, don’t be surprised if you’re donning the 3D glasses and having Steve-O’s genitals waved in your face sometime next year.
