Although this one is more rumour than fact at this point, Pajiba reports that Bradley Cooper and Sam Worthington are now attached to the much buzzed about, The Texas Killing Fields.
At one point, Danny Boyle was mulling whether to direct the movie, but he left it behind to make 127 Hours instead. According to the rumours, the new person attached behind the camera is Ami Mann, daughter of Michael Mann. She will direct, while her father produces.
The script for The Texas Killing Fields has generated plenty of interest in Hollywood. Written by a former Texas police officer, it’s about two cops who realise that the latest murder in their jurisdiction connects their case to the notorious killing fields murders. The killing field murders concern four bodies that were found in the same place in Texas – along Interstate 45 near Calder Road in League City. However while that sounds relatively generic, the fact Danny Boyle said the script was almost too dark to get made (and this from the man who made Trainspotting) certainly makes the whole thing sound a lot more intriguing.
Worthington and Cooper are certainly plausible as the two cops, although we’ll have to see whether this turns out to be true, or just another internet rumour.
